It's Unbelievable!

The photos below show a new process I used to create a stunning bonsai from a young seedling. Both photos are of the same tree, taken a day apart.

I started with this young spruce seedling.

And in only a day I transformed it into this ancient bonsai! (no kidding here.)

 How did he do that?!

A. He beat on the trunk with a hammer to thicken the bark.

B. He flew in Kimura to help.

A. He used the other side of the tree, which looked older.

D. Fertilizer.

E. Other.

The correct answer is "E. Other." But check back from time to time and the secret will be revealed!

And this is a fun process that you can do yourself to make ancient looking trees out of almost anything!

Here's the answer

Starting with a plain seedling, I first wired the trunk and lower branch. Next, using a strong, waterproof epoxy, I glued bark flakes up and down the trunk covering it completely.

The effect is very realistic and takes more patience than skill to achieve. After the trunk was completed I wired the remaining branches, then covered up any mistakes with more bark flakes. The whole process took six hours from start to finish.

Typical reaction of your friends when they see your new, amazing bonsai trees!
